Services for Schools

Hosting the Little Musical Caravan

The Little Musical Caravan visits primary schools in the Porirua region and beyond. The caravan is a self-contained music studio and carries all the instruments, toys, sensory tools and resources that we need to run our music therapy sessions.

In the caravan, we offer individual one-on-one sessions to students with additional learning needs, or who may require therapy support for other reasons. Sometimes it is helpful to have TA support, depending on student needs, and sometimes we also involves the student’s peers in sessions.

To bring the Little Musical Caravan on school site we require:

  • A level spot to park
  • Access to electricity via a mains socket (we are fully RCD protected)
  • Sufficient space to be able to turn and manoeuvre
  • A minimum of 3 students requiring our individual services

Where it isn’t possible to bring the Little Musical Caravan onto school site, we may still be able to work with your students if you have a quiet space we can use without interruptions. It is also helpful if you have school instruments that your students can use in sessions, but we will be able to bring a limited number of instruments with us.

Feedback on  our Services

"An interesting, well-planned workshop"

Emily is engaging, interactive and approachable, and her knowledge and expertise allowed her to adapt to the group’s needs, clearly explaining links to our ECE/school curricula and showed how strategies and concepts could be applied and incorporated.
An interesting, well-planned workshop with the right balance of relevant presentation and hands-on participation.
Highly recommended!
